Confiança – cosmetics we can trust in?
Confiança is another cosmetic brand made in Portugal whose products you can buy in our e-shop or store. Not only because confiança means trust in Portuguese I decided to find out whether this name is suitable or not and what is so special about these products.
How it all began?
Confiança company was already founded at the end of 19th century (1894) in a Portuguese city Braga. It was in rather challenging era full of enomonic instability and political uncertainty. At the beginning Confiança was focused on a production of Offenbach soaps (also called as Blue and white sopas) which were used in households and it became successful in this area. Thanks to creativity, high determination and diligence the company gradually entered a market of cosmetics and despite of financial and technical difficulties succeeded in the large towns and cities in the north oh the country.
Brief view into history …
After the First World War Confiança company went through a proces of modernization and expansion. In 1928 they offered more than 150 different soaps and range of other cosmetic products, such as toothpastes, shaving sticks, creams, face powders and lotions. During 1950s and 1960s the position of company continued to strengthen and besides the retail trade Confiança also provided own branded products for hotels and other companies. In the 1980s it was time for innovation of original formulas and some new products such as shower gels or perfumed shampoos were created. Confiança with over a century of know-how and experience still keep high quality of its products as well as traditional manufacturing and is popular all over Portugal. It was these unique assets that motivated its acquisition by Ach Brito in 2009.
How is a process of manufacturing?
Manufacturing of Confiança products is built on high quality, traditional procedures and extraordinary care. Only the most quality raw materials are used for the products. Soap production is still according to centenary artisanal methods, all solid and liquid soaps as well as shower gels are enriched with several moisturizing ingredients and exceptional perfumes. Confiança brand also offer extraordinary shaving creams and colognes with a production process that includes a maturing stage, allowing for fragrances to be enhanced to their fullest splendor. The packaging of each and every one product is also special as it is made by hand. The original packages then just underline uniqueness of the Confiança products.
